Garden Update

Cutting some lettuce for lunch

Our first zucchini

Tomatoes

Christiana in the garden

Future squash

Our garden is doing great. God is truly blessing it. We are so excited and can't wait to start harvesting fresh veggies to eat. I'm also looking forward to canning and freezing some of our harvest.

Today we cut some of our lettuce and enjoyed a delicious salad for lunch. The kids that don't even usually eat salad enjoyed it because it came from our garden (makes a happy Mommy). And some kids even had seconds, of salad :)

Do any of you have gardens, and if so how are they doing? I love gardening, anyone else out there feel the same way? Let me know.

Our Garden

Zucchini

Greenbeans

Lettuce

I am excited to report that my garden is growing nicely. Everything we planted has come up and we are so excited. Since I don't have a nice little raised garden and it's the first year having a garden in this spot, we have weeds to keep up with. As much as my garden veggies have loved all our rain, so have the weeds. Now just to keep up with the weeding. But never fear, there are plenty of us to do weeding and it will be well worth it. We all love gardening and can't wait to harvest our crops. To all of you out there with a garden also, Happy Gardening :)

My Garden

I am so excited to have a garden this year. Our landlord cleared an area for me to have a garden and even plowed 15 rows for me. This is awesome because I have never had a landlord so helpful. Usually I have to do all the clearing and prepping and plowing. So a great big thank you goes out to my landlord for all the work he has put in to helping me have a garden this year.

I'm hoping to get some seeds in the ground this weekend. In the past we have grown corn, tomatoes, cucumbers, potatoes, squash, greenbeans, pumpkins, broccoli and watermelon. I love to store up my harvest so I'm hoping to get enough bounty to can and freeze.

I love gardening and my kids love it too. It's a great learning experience and it's healthy eating too (plus it saves money, gotta love that part).

I'll keep you posted on how it all goes. I'm so excited and can't wait...
