Yesterday was my beautiful daughter, Christiana's, 15th birthday. We usually celebrate with all her favorite foods and cake and ice cream, but due to our church calling a 21 day fast and her partaking in it, we did things a little differently this year. Her brothers and sister still decorated the dining room for her and they still bought and gave her the gifts they got for her, but we will officially celebrate her birthday after the fast.

I am so proud of Christiana. She has brought 15 wonderful years to my life and I am so thankful to have the privilege of being her Mom. I love you Christiana.

Modeling Fun

My sister-in-law is taking photography classes and needed to take some shots for class, so she asked my two girls if they wanted to model for her. Of course, they said yes, and had a blast helping her out. I think she did a great job. Here are a couple of pictures she took.

Looking Alike

Everyone tells me how much my oldest daughter looks like me. I can see it, but she can't. I happen to think she is an absolutely gorgeous young lady (of course I'm biased) but I take that as a compliment for me as well, hey at my age I'll take all the compliments I can get:) So many times people will start to have conversations with her thinking they are talking to me until they realize later that they are speaking to a fourteen year old. I think it's kind of funny when she comes to tell me what people say, we get a good chuckle out of it. What I find even funnier is when my daughter will walk in a room with her father and if he doesn't look directly at her (or only sees the back of her) he will begin having a conversation with her thinking he's talking to me. Thankfully he hasn't shared anything too private with her :)

Christiana's 14th Birthday

Today is our oldest daughter, Christiana's, 14th birthday. I can't believe it's been 14 years already. Where has the time gone? I am so proud of her and all her accomplishments over this last year. She is a joy to be around and the life of the party. She is beautiful inside and out and I hope she realizes how blessed our family is to have her in it. I pray that God will bless her all the days of her life and that she will continually seek His face.

Today we decorated the dining room for her with streamers, signs and balloons. She chooses all her favorite meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner and then tonight we have cake, ice cream and presents. The little kids like going to get her a little something from the dollar store and they all make homemade birthday cards for her. We try to make her feel special all day so that she realizes how special she really is to our family.

In case you're wondering, before the day was over we all had the stomach bug. I was the last one to catch it around midnight last night. It is a 12 hour bug so everyone is better but weak because it completely wipes you out. Christiana got sick last night so she is not spending her birthday sick, just weak. She is enjoying all her birthday meals, just in smaller portions.
