Easter Weekend

I pray that this Easter weekend found everyone enjoying the beautiful weather with egg hunts and family time and praising the Lord for the resurrection.

We spent our Saturday dyeing eggs, making cupcakes, and making resurrection cookies, after opening our last resurrection egg. Sunday morning started with Easter baskets and reading the final part of the resurrection story before eating resurrection cookies, then off to church for service and home for a big Easter meal. Afterwards, nap time (everyone was too tired and stuffed to hide eggs, so we promised to hide them the next day and everyone was ok with it), then after nap back to church then home to bed. It was a fun and busy weekend for us.

I love the holidays but I must confess I also love when the holidays are over and things slow down a bit. Getting back to our normal pace of life is always welcome after being so busy.

P.S.
I will add some pictures later. We are rearranging our computers at the moment, but I will get some pictures up soon. Blessings.

Our Easter

This Easter was sooo much fun. We invited family and some new friends over and it was a blast. Church and the message were great and time at home afterwards led all the way into the wee hours. The best Easter ever.

I have a very bad habit of getting so wrapped up in enjoying myself that I forget to take pictures. So unfortunately, I didn't get any of our new friends nor of us preparing, eating or fellowshipping. But here are a few of what I did get. Hope you all had a blessed Resurrection Sunday.

Happy Easter

It's not about bunnies and hiding eggs. It's not about family and big meals. It's not even about His death. It's about His resurrection. We serve a living God that loves us so much He sent His Son (a part of Himself in human form) so that we may spend eternity with Him. A place created for Him and His angels. He wants to share it with us! It's perfection, it's majesty and we get to spend eternity there. Who could ask for anything more?

If you do not know Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, then I ask you now to accept Him. You don't have to be perfect or have your life all straightened out first. He created you, He knows you and He loves you. All you have to do is admit you're a sinner, believe that Jesus died for you and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

If you've fallen from your Christian walk then just pick yourself up and rededicate your life to Him. He wants to help you through those things that you feel you can't do on your own. You were never meant to do it alone. Make Him Lord of your life again.

May each and everyone of you feel loved this Easter. "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends." Jn. 15:13

"He is not here, but is risen!" Luke 24:6

Easter Weekend

I pray everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend. I thought I would just share a few pictures of what we did.

On Saturday we always dye eggs. Sunday morning the kids wake up and get their Easter baskets (they know they are from Mommy and Daddy and not the Easter Bunny). Then we head off to church then home for our Easter meal and egg hunt.

Hunting for eggs

I love spring and Easter here in the south where flowers are in full bloom and everything is so alive. We had a wonderful Easter. Now if I can just find all those plastic eggs laying around the inside of my house that the kids have been playing with. I feel like I'm the one egg hunting sometimes :) Be blessed everyone.

Resurrection Eggs

With Easter coming I always try to think of ways to teach our children the true meaning of this holiday. Resurrection eggs are a great and easy way to remind them of why we celebrate Easter. In case you have never heard of them, let me explain. You get a egg carton with plastic eggs of different colors and each egg contains an item that leads up to the resurrection of Jesus Christ along with a short description of what to read from the Bible and what each corresponding egg represents. For example, one egg will have coins in it to represent Judas betrayal, one egg will have a piece of cloth representing the cloth Jesus was wrapped in when he was placed in the tomb, one egg is empty representing the empty tomb, etc. You can start to do these twelve days before Easter or all at one time depending on your preference.

My kids love them and I love how it gives them something they can see and touch and hear about. Even the littles ones get it. If you don't want to go buy them (usually at a local Christian bookstore) you can go online and get instructions to make your own.

What are some of your traditions or ways you teach your children what Easter is all about? Remember, Jesus is the reason for the season :)
