Happy Memorial Day

I would like to take this time to thank all service men and women who have served or are serving in the military. Thank you for your sacrifice and for the freedom that my family and I enjoy.

We ended up celebrating today with a cookout with my brother-in-law and sister-in-law. We set up horseshoes and took a drive out to Melton Hill Dam.

I love patriotic celebrations. I love decorating in red, white and blue. I love fireworks and summer time cookouts with all the trimmings and family gathered together. I'm proud to be an American and want to instill that in our children. I pray that we never forget those who have made this freedom possible.

Happy Memorial Day everyone. May you be blessed today and everyday.

  1. Agreed! We pretty much only have my mom here so she came over today for a cook out. Hubby grilled burgers and hot dogs. We had chips and fruit salad and snow cones and smores and juice boxes (something we normally don't give them LOL so it was a real treat). We set up our new pool (courtesy of grandma) and spent all day in the pool. The 7 yr old, 5 yr old, and 4 yr old LOVED it. The 2 yr old wasn't quite so sure once the water was so deep that he couldn't touch and needed a float. LOL. And the baby didn't care either way. It helped with the pregnancy nausea though. :) Great day. We also spent a good portion of the morning looking at youtube Memorial Day tributes. My 7 yr old learned about the World Trade Center and why we are at war. He learned that our military men and women sometimes die over there fighting the people who attacked us. He learned a lot today. Asked a lot of questions. :)
